Late, great shots punctuated wins for Concordia (Wis.), Merchant Marine and Mary Washington on Saturday afternoon.

Millikin looked well on its way to victory when it led Concordia (Wis.) 72-55 with 6:23 left. The Falcons whittled the Big Blue's lead to 10 and then scored nine points in three possessions. After Bradley Prinsen hit two free throws to give the Falcons the lead, Millikin's Deavis Johnson was fouled and went to the line for two free throws with three seconds left. He made the first, but missed the second. Dustin Thumann grabbed the rebound for Concordia and found Eric Kittel for a buzzer-beating three pointer from half court, giving the Falcons a dramatic 84-81 victory. Full story
Merchant Marine trailed Scranton by six with less than a minute to play on the road, but George Hatzioannides made two layups and then Scott Dennin made one more at the buzzer to send the game to overtime. The Mariners completed the comeback by beating the Royals 86-83. Zach Karczewski scored 27 points on 10-for-14 shooting for Merchant Marine.
Bradley Riester conected on a three-pointer from the left wing with six seconds left to lift Mary Washington over No. 9 St. Mary's (Md.) 66-64. Watch the dramatic finish here.
Heidelberg missed a potential game-tying shot at the buzzer against No. 17 Marietta, and the Pioneers hung on for an 82-80 win. No. 23 Guilford won a tightly contested game against Methodist 68-66 on a Matt McCarthy runner with 1.7 seconds left. Neither team led by more than five points during the game.
Concordia (Texas) won a shootout against No. 20 Mary Hardin-Baylor, 96-93. Josh Sanchez, Dwayne Patterson and Andre Potts combined for 76 points for the Tornados. Jerard Graham had 26 points for the Crusaders, who have alternated wins and losses through six games.
Lewis Mau scored a layup at the buzzer to lift UW-Eau Claire over Ashford, 64-63. Ashford is ranked 23rd in the most recent NAIA poll.
The top ranked teams coasted to victory on Saturday. No. 1 UW-Stevens Point beat St. John's by 20. No. 2 Wooster took care of winless Wabash 54-41 and No. 3 Illinois Wesleyan repelled Chicago 80-61.

Guilford went to overtime against Greensboro and that's when the Quakers Kayla Adams took over. She scored 12 of her 16 points in overtime on four three-pointers and Guilford defeated its crosstown rival, 77-70.
No. 6 Hope outrebounded Capital by 24 and outscored the Crusaders easily, 93-68. Megan Kelley had 23 points for the Flying Dutch and Rebekah Llorens notched a double-double (21 points, 12 rebounds).
Olivia Murphy and Andrea Suffredini combined to score 23 points for Mass-Boston, but no one else made more than one shot for the Beacons and they lost to Rhode Island College, 48-30.
An intriguing matchup between No. 24 John Carroll and No. 18 Ithaca was postponed by winter weather, as were several other games. No makeup date has been set.
