Babson continued the NEWMAC's impressive non-conference play with a 93-90 overtime win over No. 25 Colorado College.

Babson led Colorado College 69-62 in the final minutes of regulation when Colorado College's Ryan Milne caught fire. Milne scored 11 points in the final 80 seconds of regulation, including a three with seven seconds left to send the game to overtime. In the extra period Sam Bohmiller hit the game-winning three pointer for the Beavers.

Joey Flannery scored 34 for Babson, which improves to 8-2. Ryan Milne had 38 points and Chris Lesansky added 27 more for the Tigers, who picked up their first loss to a Division III opponent. Recap

The eight NEWMAC teams have a combined non-conference record of 53-22, with all but Coast Guard over .500 and six having a record of 6-3 or better. The NEWMAC teams went 56-35 out of conference last year, including postseason games.

No. 5 Williams survived a potential game-tying shot by Washington and Lee and returns to Massachusetts with a 60-58 victory. The Ephs trailed with less than five minutes to play until Taylor Epley hit a three to give Williams the lead. The Generals hit two three pointers in the final minute and fouled Williams to extend the game, but the Ephs made enough free throws to secure the win.

Plattsburgh State punished UW-Stout, which was playing without its top two scorers in Daytona Beach, 62-40. The Cardinals shot 52 percent in the second half.

No. 1 DePauw defeated No. 18 Ithaca 65-47 in a defensive struggle, clearing a major hurdle on its way to another potential undefeated regular season. Both teams struggled from the field, shooting under 40 percent from the field and under 32 percent from three. But the Tigers converted 19 of 28 free throws to the Bombers' one make in four attempts.

DePauw finished its non-conference schedule 9-0 and now enters NCAC play, where the Tigers have not lost to an opponent in two seasons. Ithaca, which also lost at No. 3 Amherst, slips to 6-2.

Ferrum dealt No. 17 Rhodes its first loss of the season in double overtime, 79-77. Ferum's Shea Smith hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to send the game to overtime and Boreika Burwell made two free throws with six seconds left in the second extra session to give the Panthers the win.

Gwynedd-Mercy built a 10-point halftime lead against No. 23 Vassar at the other Las Vegas tournament and made it stand up in an 82-74 Griffin victory. Cydni Matsuoka tallied 28 points, seven assists and six rebounds for the Brewers in the loss.

No. 10 George Fox completed a successful Texas trip by rolling past Trinity (Texas) 82-58. The Bruins dominated Howard Payne yesterday and earned Michael Meek his 99th and 100th career victory.
