Immaculata athletic director Patty Canterino announced that Terrance Stewart has been tabbed the head coach of the Mighty Macs’ men’s basketball program.

“I am thrilled that Terrance Stewart will lead our basketball program,” Canterino said. “He is committed to academics, character development and winning.  I believe his leadership, confidence, dedication and vision will guide Immaculata men’s basketball into a terrific new era.”

He replaces Jamie Chadwin, who was the only head coach in the program's history. He led Immaculata to a 76-108 record in seven seasons. Chadwin is now coaching boys' basketball at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy. Immaculata did not acknowledge Chadwin's departure.

Stewart arrives at Immaculata having spent the last two seasons with the LaSalle University men’s basketball program serving as the video coordinator and assistant director of operations. In his role with the Explorers, Stewart worked with the coaching staff to prepare scouting reports, coordinate film exchange and assist in coordinating recruiting visits.

Prior to joining the staff at LaSalle, Stewart was the head coach of the East Coast Elite 17U AAU team during 2009-10.

Stewart played professional basketball overseas at the highest levels of international competition for 10 seasons. He ended his professional playing career in Spain with CAI Zaragoza. He also played in France, Germany, Israel, Russia, Belgium, Portugal, Argentina, Uruguay and Venezuela. During his professional career, he received first-team All-Import honors three times and was four times chosen as a second-team All-Import selection playing in various leagues.

Stewart played collegiately at Rowan from 1992-1996. The Profs reached the NCAA Tournament during all four seasons he was on the team, including three appearances in the national semifinals. Rowan captured the national championship in 1996, and Stewart was named the most outstanding player of the tournament.

Stewart earned All-NJAC honors on three occasions, including first team recognition in both 1995 and 1996. He was selected as the NJAC player of the year his junior campaign during 1994-95. Stewart finished his playing career at Rowan as the school’s all-time leading scorer with 1,628 points. That mark stood until 2008.

Stewart earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Thomas Edison College.
