UW-Stout's Julia Hirssig and Williams' Blake Schultz have been named the 2010 Jostens Trophy winners. The winner is chosen by a national selection committee that consists of college coaches, former athletes, college administrators and selected members of the media. The members of the national selection committee vote based on three criteria: basketball ability, academic prowess and community service. The trophy will be presented in Salem, Va., on March 18.

Hirssig, a senior, started every game for UW-Stout and averaged 21.4 points and 10.6 rebounds in just 27 minutes per game, while shooting 68.2 percent from the floor. A 2009 ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America selection in 2009, Hirssig has a 3.96 GPA in hotel, restaurant and tourism management. She is also active in her church and volunteers in elementary schools and for the Salvation Army.

Schultz leads the No. 2-ranked Ephs in scoring, averaging 18.6 points per game, and shoots 52 percent from three-point range. He has a 3.29 grade-point average in his economics/pre-med major and has coordinated Eph team relationships with the local A Better Chance (ABC) program and nearby Berkshire Farm Center (juvenile delinquents in a New York State residence facility), enabling the participants to visit practices and meet and correspond with players. Further, he coordinated free summer basketball camp opportunities for ABC students.
