Grinnell guard Jeff Clement set the D-III scoring record with 77 points Feb. 18 in Grinnell's 149-144 win against Illinois College. Clement shot 26-for-68 from the floor and 19-for-52 from 3-point range, breaking his own record of 17 3-pointers in a game set earlier this season.

The previous record was 69 points by Steve Diekmann, also of Grinnell, in 1994.

Last Saturday, Grinnell had broken the record for most players making a 3-pointer when 13 players hit from downtown in a 104-73 win against Monmouth. The Pioneers broke the previous record, 11, set by St. Mary's (Md.) against Bard in 1994.
