CLAREMONT, Calif. – The University of Redlands women's basketball team (13-13, 8-8) lost their Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Tournament First Round game at Pomona-Pitzer, 52-43, Tuesday evening.
It was a very low scoring game, and the first quarter followed that trend as the two sides combined for 21 points as the Bulldogs led 11-10. All 11 of those points came from AJ Wick and Colbi Zorich.
Redlands were down four, 21-17, at the 5:04 mark of the second before Carly Hicks fed Wick on a fastbreak layup and Wick found Zorich to tie the game at 21 with 2:56 to play. The Sagehens, though, made a three with 14 seconds left as they took a 24-21 lead into the half.
The defense held Pomona-Pitzer scoreless for the first three plus minutes of the third and they got two buckets, including a Leila Hosn-assisted, Andrea Perkins three, to take a 26-24 lead.
After the lead changed hands following a short burst by Pomona-Pitzer, Zorich converted an and-one with 4:23 on the clock to reclaim the lead following a personal 5-0 run. Over the final four minutes, however, an 8-0 Sagehen run made it a six-point deficit, 37-31, after 30 minutes.
The 8-0 run to end the third quarter was extended to 10-0 as they fell behind by eight with less than nine minutes remaining in their season.
Alex Facelo then began a 9-0 Bulldog run that flipped the game from an eighth-point deficit to a one-point lead, 41-40, in only four minutes.
The alternating runs continued across the final three minutes as the Sagehens closed out the game with a 9-0 run of their own to secure the win.
Wick ended with 12 points and 16 rebounds. Zorich led all Bulldogs with 14 points. Hosn had three points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Perkins got the start and had seven points, four rebounds, and two steals.
In terms of records Wick finishes the season with six top-23 single-game rebound marks, including the second-best game with 24 against Caltech, one off the program record. She finishes with 414 points, ninth most, grabbed 115 offensive rebounds (2nd), 227 defensive rebounds (2nd), 342 total rebounds (2nd), and blocked 37 shots (T-7th).

Zorich's free throw percentage this season ends at 83.8 percent (88-105), the eighth highest in program history. She now has two top-10 seasons, joining Alyssa Downs (three seasons) and Heather Dana (two) with multiple in the top-10. She is also 42 points away from 1,000 in her career.
Head coach Rich Murphy is 19 wins away from number 300.
