Women's Basketball Dominates Warren Wilson in Jean Edge Classic Opener

Rocky Mount, NC - The N.C. Wesleyan women's basketball team opened play in the Jean Edge Classic with a dominant performance, defeating Warren Wilson College 78-47 in a decisive victory. Led by a stellar all-around effort from guard Nadia Simmons, the Bishops never trailed in the contest, cruising to a comfortable win.

Simmons was the driving force for the offense, finishing with nineteen points, four rebounds, and two assists, as Wesleyan shot nearly 50% from the field. The Bishops were also efficient from beyond the arc, knocking down six three-pointers in the blowout win.

Forward Anaya Hall had another impressive outing, contributing twelve points and grabbing six rebounds. Hall's presence in the paint was crucial as she helped the Bishops control the glass and maintain a steady offensive flow.

Off the bench, point guard Leila Copeland made an impact on both ends of the floor, pulling down six rebounds and adding four points to the stat sheet. Her energy and defensive presence were key in helping NCWU extend its lead throughout the game.

Defensively, the Bishops were relentless, forcing Warren Wilson into twenty turnovers through their aggressive press and stifling defense. Wesleyan recorded eight steals on the night and outrebounded the Owls by fifteen.
