Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (11/9/2024) - To conclude the 2024 Gwynedd Mercy University Tip-Off Tournament, Gwynedd Mercy University (1-1) welcomed Division three powerhouse DeSales University (2-0) to the Griffin Complex to conclude the annual tournament. A back-and-forth affair went down to the wire, but the Bulldogs would walk away with a 70-66 victory. Senior forward Alexis Eagan (Drexel Hill, Pa.) in back-to-back days finished with a double-double with game-highs in both 19 points (7-of-11, 77%) and rebounds (12). Eagan also contributed four steals in the contest.  

Griffin Highlights:   

• Two other members of the Red and Gold finished with double-digit points including sophomore guard Angelina Balcer (Philadelphia, Pa.) (10) and junior forward Erin Eisenhart (Bethlehem, Pa.) (10). Both Griffins finished with five assists and the former tallied four rebounds while the latter corralled seven.  

• Freshman guard Alexis Kanzinger (Bala Cynwyd, Pa.) was a valuable reserve off the bench for Gwynedd Mercy. Kanzinger in 19 minutes played finished with career-highs in points (8), rebounds (2), assists (2), blocks (1), and steals (2).  

• With the Bulldogs' length, the Red and Gold recorded 17 turnovers, resulting in 26 points off of turnovers for DeSales.  

Gwynedd Mercy is back on action Wednesday, November 13 when the Griffins take part in the Battle of 309 and face Arcadia University for a 6:00 p.m. tipoff.
