Millikin Women’s Basketball Put Offense in High Gear

The 15th ranked Millikin women's basketball team got its offense going in high gear winning at North Park University 110-91 in Chicago, Illinois on January 31.

 

The Big Blue lead the entire game shooting 61 percent (40-66) from the field. Millikin led 27-21 at the end of the first half and 58-49 at halftime. Millikin opened the second half with a 13-4 run and outscored the Vikings by 13 in the third quarter.

 

Millikin had three players scorer 24 points or more in the game. Senior All-American Elyce Knudsen led the way with a double double with 25 points and 10 assists. Knudsen was two shy of a triple double with eight rebounds. Seniors Bailey Coffman and Sophie Darden each scored 24 points and had six rebounds. Matayia Tellis added 10 points for Millikin.

 

Victoria Perry and Aliyah Hershberger each had 23 points for North Park who had five players score in double figures.

 

Millikin shot 4-13 (31 percent) from three point range and went 26-32 from the free throw line. North Park shot 51 percent (34-67) from the field and made 6-20 from three-point range. The Vikings were 17-23 from the free throw line. Millikin won the rebounding battle 35-26.

 

Millikin improves to 17-4, 9-3 while North Park falls to 3-18, 0-12.
