Potsdam, NY – Freshman Addie Kea scored a season-best 18 points, including four 3-pointers, but the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team came up short in conference action on Friday evening, falling 72-59 to Ithaca College at Alumni Gymnasium.

The Golden Knights saw their record fall to 3-10 overall and 1-5 in the Liberty League, while Ithaca moved to 11-2 and 5-1. Clarkson will face Liberty League foe Union College on Saturday afternoon.

In the opening minutes, the Knights had some trouble getting shots off against the lengthy guards of Ithaca, but two 3-pointers from Addie Kea allowed Clarkson to take an early 6-2 lead. The Bombers responded with the next nine points before another Kea 3-pointer cut the margin to two with just under three minutes to go in the first quarter. However, Ithaca scored the final seven points of the first, including a deep buzzer-beating three from Jillian Payne, to claim an 11-point advantage after 10 minutes.

Clarkson stayed close in the second for the first few minutes, but another run from the Bombers, this time a 10-2 stretch, allowed Ithaca to double up the Knights. Ithaca shot nearly 50% from the floor in the first half, while the Knights were able to stay in the game thanks to five 3-pointers in the opening 20 minutes.

In the third, a Junie Dickson 3-pointer at 7:03 put Ithaca up by 20 for the first time, and the Bombers nearly pushed that advantage to 30 by the end of the period. In the fourth, Clarkson found a bit of an offensive groove, getting points from both the perimeter and interior, tossing in 24 points in the final 10 minutes, but the gap was too much to overcome.

Kea finished with a game-high 18 points and also added three steals. Cassidy Dumont also snagged three steals and had 14 points. Raelin Burns (11 points) and Bella Doyle (10 points) also finished in double figures. For Ithaca, Anya Watkins scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds, Annabella Yorio scored 13, and Junie Dickson contributed 10 points.
