William Paterson Women's Basketball Drops Tilt at TCNJ

EWING, Mass. – The William Paterson women's basketball team (4-10, 2-5 NJAC) fell 91-61 to The College of New Jersey (8-6, 5-2 NJAC) in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) road game Jan. 6.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Senior Brianna Smith buried a shot from deep with 9:43 on the clock in the second quarter to bring the Pioneers within three (21-18).
  • The Lions responded with a 20-6 run that spanned nearly six minutes of action to extend the advantage to 17 (41-24) with 3:35 remaining in the frame.
  • TCNJ maintained its double-digit lead the rest of the way to secure the 90-61 conference win.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Smith went 10-for-16 (.625) from the field and 6-for-9 (.667) from deep for a season-high 27 points.
  • Sophomore Renee Wells finished with 11 points, four steals and three rebounds.
  • Sophomore Patricia Walsh logged eight points on 4-of-6 (.667) shooting.
