ORANGE, Calif. – The University of Redlands women's basketball team (4-4, 1-1) beat Chapman University 69-65 in overtime on Saturday evening as the Bulldogs got their first Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) win of the season. Then with 2:23 left in the half Anderson scored in the paint, but that was the final point of the half for Redlands as they trailed at the half, 26-24.

Hicks' excellent shooting continued to carry the Bulldogs' offense in the second half as their first six points came off her threes as they led by two, 30-28, with 7:38 on the clock in the third. Redlands would finish the quarter by scoring four of the final six points and led by four, 44-40, after 30 minutes as Anderson and Wick scored inside with Avery Shiring picking up an assist on Wick's bucket.

Zorich and Shiring each scored the first points of the fourth as they led by their largest margin of the game, eight, 48-40. The Panthers, though, scored the next eight points as the game was tied at 48. After another tie at 50, Redlands would hold a three-point lead with seven seconds remaining in the game thanks to Shiring who hit a free throw. Chapman, however, would tie the game at 57 with a three with four seconds left and sent the game into overtime.

In the five-minute period Zorich found Hicks for another made three only 16 seconds into the quarter and the Bulldogs would not relinquish the lead as they converted on seven of their 10 free throws.

Joining Hicks with the career game was Shiring who had a career-high 21 points (9-15 FG, 3-4 FT). Anderson had a great all-around game with 13 points (3-6 FG, 7-8 FT), eight assists, and eight rebounds. The eight assists are a new career-high.
