The two defenses played strong in the opening ten minutes. Meghan Ellis (Cobleskill, N.Y. / Cobleskill-Richmondville) made the first two baskets for the Wolves. Tied at 4-4, Maddie Kramer knocked down a three to give the Wolves the lead. Penn answered with a basket but Keuka led 7-6 after the first.

In the second, Penn College took the lead from the Wolves, but Keuka got it right back on a three by Sydney Brown (Lowville, N.Y. / Lowville Academy). The Wildcats responded, however, with 10 straight points to regain the advantage. A jumper by Sophia Babcock (Oswego, N.Y. / Oswego) stopped the run, but Penn College would lead by eight, 24-16, at the half.

Following a Penn free throw, Keuka cut the lead down to five on baskets by Kramer and Babcock. Eight unanswered from the Wildcats answered that as Penn remained in control of the game. The hosts extended their lead to 14, but Sydney Brown found Maddie Kramer for a late jumper to make it 38-26 going into the final quarter.

The Wolves attempted to mount a fourth-quarter comeback, but the hosts had an answer for every Keuka College basket. The Wolves scored 20 in the fourth quarter alone. A three by Mary Cotter (Hershey, Pa. / Hershey) cut it to a six-point game with 1:44 remaining. The Wolves had a chance to get it to a one-possession game, but a three was off. Penn College made enough free throws at the end to maintain the advantage as they defeated the Wolves 54-46 on Friday night.
