Women’s Basketball Ends Season with Trip to HCAC Tournament

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Manchester University women's basketball team concluded the 2022-23 season on Tuesday, February 21 with a trip to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Tournament Quarterfinals.

The No. 6 seeded Spartans fell to the No. 3 seeded Mount St. Joseph Lions by a final score of 90-68. 

Leading the way for the Lions was Karlee Mills with 20 points. Madison Drummonds added 17 points, while Morgan Jenkins chipped in 14 points for MSJ. Mount St. Joseph tallied 4 blocks and 11 steals as a team on Tuesday night. As a team, the Lions shot 43.3% from the field, 39.1% from three-point range, and 85.2% from the free throw line. 

Jessie Ringen (Rensselaer, Ind., Rensselaer Central) led the Spartans with 17 points on the night. Bailey Keim (Denver, Ind., North Miami) added 12 points, while Ally Graber (Mooresville, Ind., Mooresville) chipped in 10 points in 6 rebounds for the Black and Gold. Bridget Nash (Carmel, Ind., Bishop Chatard) tallied 9 points her final collegiate game. Senior Hannah Lindsey (Speedway, Ind., Speedway) scored 8 points in her final collegiate game. The Spartans totaled 10 steals and 34 rebounds as a team. Manchester shot 38.5% from the field, 15.8% from three-point range, 83.3% from the free throw line. 

The Spartans concluded the 2022-23 season with an overall record of 9-15.
