• Hood started the game hot going on a 6-0 run in the first two minutes. Newson led the run-scoring four of the first six points of the first period. 
• The Pride answered with a 9-0 run of their own, led by Jordan D'Ambrosio that had four of the nine. This run gave Widener its first lead of the game 9-6 with 6:31 left. 
• Widener ended the period on a 6-2 run to give them their biggest lead of the game 24-19 at the end of the first period. 
• Hood's Laniyonu converted a lay-up at the 8:04 mark in the second period, to pull the Blazers within three points with a score of 28-25. 
• The Pride used a 12-0 run soon after to stretch its lead to 40-25 with 5:13 left in the period.
