BOSTON -- The University of New England women's basketball team put together a season-best shooting performance to cruise past Wentworth Institute of Technology by a 72-41 margin on Tuesday evening (Jan. 10) in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) match from Tansey Gymnasium.

Winners of six in their last seven, the Nor'easters improve to 10-4 overall and 6-1 in the CCC heading into a visit to Salve Regina University (4-3 CCC) on Saturday.

UNE connected at a 51.9 percent clip in the contest (28-for-54) and knocked down 37.5 percent from behind the arc. Juliana Tracey and Nora Barmashi both hit three from downtown during the initial 20 minutes, when the squad had eight of their nine triples.

Tracey wound up one point shy of a personal best with 19 points on 8-of-10 field-goal accuracy. Keagan Dunbar provided 16 points, six rebounds, and five assists, while Barmashi totaled 14 points -- a season-high by 11.

Faye Veilleux and Gabby Soter had four steals apiece as the Nor'easters forced 30 Wentworth turnovers and scored 35 points from those possessions. Veilleux also registered nine points, Soter dished out six assists, and Grace Boucher notched six points with six boards.

UNE went scoreless over the first four minutes, but nine from Tracey quickly changed that to give the visitors a 12-2 lead. Two more double-digit scoring runs -- 11-0 and 14-0 -- helped push the gap up to 28 (39-11) late in the 2nd quarter, and the spread peaked at 33 early in the 3rd frame after an 11-2 run out of halftime by the Nor'easters.

Gabby Amoddio paced the Leopards (3-10, 0-7 CCC) with 12 points and seven caroms. Brooke Carlson contributed nine points.
