  • Manning went 6-for-10 shooting and was 5-of-7 at the free throw line. The junior added 11 rebounds, eight of which were recorded on the offensive glass.

How it Happened

  • Messiah's Chloe Milanesi converted a lay-up to start the third quarter to give the Falcons their biggest lead of the game 31-22 less than a minute into the period. 

  • The Blazers answered with a 7-0 run that dwindled Messiah's lead to 31-29 with just under seven minutes to go in the third period. 

  • Morgan Adams pushed the Falcons lead back to six with a turnaround jumper, as Hood went into a timeout down 37-31 with 3:19 left in the third. 

  • Wright made a 3-point jumper with 42 seconds left in third to pull the Blazers within two with Messiah leading 37-35 after three quarters.

  • Manning tied the game up at 37-37 with a hook shot with 9:18 left the final period. 

  • After Messiah's Faith Grula split a pair of free-throws to go up by one, Newson put the Blazers in front with a jumper on the very next possession 39-38 with 8:10 left. 

  • Hood pulled within two on an and-one by Newson with 2:25 left in the fourth quarter, 48-46, but a Haley Wagman 3-pointer at the other end of the floor stretched the Falcons' lead back to five. 

  • The Blazers cut the deficit to three on several occasions down the stretch, including on a pair of Manning foul shots with nine seconds to go before Morgan Adams iced the win for Messiah with a free throw five seconds later.

  • After the teams entered the second quarter tied at 14-14, Messiah outscored the Blazers 15-8 in the second period for a 29-22 lead at halftime.

  • The Blazers outrebounded the Falcons 44-33 in the game. 

  • Hood held the edge on points in the point with 26 to Messiah's 18.

  • Messiah held the field goal percentage advantage 37 percent to the Blazers 35 percent. 

For the Opponent

  • Adams had 19 points and Chloe Milanesi added 11. While those two Falcons shot 13-of-22, the Blazer defense limited the rest of Messiah's team to just 8-for-35 from the floor.
