GLASSBORO, NJ -- Rowan closed the regular season with a big 75-69 win over Montclair State in a matchup of two NCAA regionally ranked teams Wednesday evening on Senior Night.

The Profs clinch the #2 playoff seed in the NJAC Tournament and will host a quarterfinal game here at Esbjornson Gymnasium on Tuesday, February 22nd against an opponent to be determined after Saturday's first-round games.

Prior to the contest, the team took time to honor its graduating seniors in Jazlyn Duverglas and team manager Pam Goleniewski with a pregame ceremony.

Eliana Santana helped turned the tide for good with her tough bucket in the paint to put the Profs on top with 1:27 to play. She then struck again after a MSU turnover on the next possession for a three-point lead.

Santana was one of four players in double figures, netting 15 points. Nicole Mallard led Rowan with 20 points, while Grace Marshall kicked in 15 and Dakota Adams netting 10.

Julia Sutton paced the Red Hawks with a game-high 28 points, connecting on six of the team's nine three-pointers.

Both teams rode through hot streaks to trade leads, with a total of 13 in the contest. Trailing 7-0 to open the contest, Rowan ran off a 13-4 run capped by a Santana three to take a lead. However Montclair wrestled the lead back to hold a 24-17 edge after the first. Rowan whittled the deficit to two, to trail 41-39 at the half.

The Profs opened the third on a 13-4 spurt as a three from Marshall and a short jumper from Kristina Johnson put the home team on top 53-45 with 3:16 in the stanza. Sutton drained two triples to help the Red Hawks rally to knot it up late. Adams beat the buzzer with a jumper in the paint for a 57-55 score heading into the fourth.

In a wild fourth quarter, the lead changed hands eight times with the last coming on the big back-to-back buckets from Santana. The team then went 3-for-4 at the line to help ice the victory.
