Women's Basketball Powers Past Wilson to Clinch Playoffs Berth

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Mac Oribello (San Diego, Calif./Westview) hit a career-high seven 3-pointers to help the Keystone women's basketball team power past Wilson, 82-76, Monday night in Colonial States Athletic Conference play at the Gannett Field House.

Wilson opened the fourth period on a 9-0 run, but the Giants quickly countered with a seven-point swing as the two teams battled to two additional ties in the period until Oribello splashed her final 3-pointer at the two-minute mark to give Keystone its final lead for the win.

Abby Ritz (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock Area) followed with four more points and Bella Lamonea (Glendora, Calif./South Hills) added a cherry 3-pointer on top to reach the final score of 82-76.

With the win, Keystone improved to 10-4 in the CSAC (12-7 overall) and clinched a spot in the six-team CSAC Championships at the end of February. Currently, the Giants hold the No. 2 spot in the standings.

Wilson fell to 9-4 CSAC, 10-9 overall and slid to the No. 3 spot.

Outstanding Performers

  • Oribello poured in 27 points on 10 of 18 shooting with five rebounds, four assists and two steals. The senior currently ranks in the NCAA Division III top 10 of 3-pointers made per game (3.50). Oribello is also 11 points away from reaching 1,000 points scored as a Keystone Giant. Her seven 3-pointers Monday night is tied for fourth-best in a single game in program history.
  • Lee Gordon (Philadelphia, Pa./Penn Wood) followed with 20 points with four 3-pointers, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals. The senior is now No. 3 in career steals (255) in Keystone program history — surpassing Kerry Fallon's 254 (2004-08).
  • Ritz tallied her third consecutive double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
  • Bella Lamonea (Glendora, Calif./South Hills) nearly had a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds along with five assists. The senior is now seven points away from reaching the 1,000-career scoring mark.
  • Tioleaoauli Posiulai finished with a double-double for the Phoenix on 17 points and 19 rebounds.
  • Naomi Hanton led Wilson with 21 points and 11 rebounds off the bench.
