The Baruch College Bearcats went on the road Tuesday night to record a 69-54 win at York College in Jamaica, New York.

The Bearcats broke open the CUNYAC contest in the third period. They trailed 42-36, but scored the next 12 points behind suffocating defense to jump ahead 48-42.

The host Cardinals came back to make it 48-45 with 2:27 left in the third, but the Bearcats went on another run scoring the next six points for a 54-45 lead, which eventually grew to 63-47 with 4:00 minutes left.
 
The Bearcats limited the Cardinals to only five shots in the third period and that proved pivotal in the second half surge for the win.

The victory is the sixth in the last seven games as the Bearcats improve to 6-2 in the CUNYAC.

Melinda Spahiu had a big double-double with a career-high 31 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists and seven steals.

Mia Castillo scored 20 points and missed a triple double with nine rebounds and eight assists.

Dessources Mac-Dege led the hosts with 25 points (12-for-16 fg).
