WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Drew University women's basketball team achieved a pair of team records with its 78-60 victory at Lycoming College in the Hoops for Hounds Tournament on Thursday afternoon.

The Rangers have now won a program-record 10 games in a row, and they have also posted the best start in team history at 10-0. The 2009-10 team held both previous records when they started 9-0.

Both Drew and William Paterson University finished the tournament 2-0. All games were predetermined, and a tournament champion was not declared.

Junior guard Joey Meyers led the Rangers with 17 points and eight rebounds and earned a spot on the all-tournament team. Meyers, who collected 10 rebounds and 11 assists in the team's 82-50 victory over Gwynedd Mercy College on Wednesday, was also selected as the tournament MVP when the Rangers won their own Rose City Classic back in November.

Senior center Erin Frederick added 16 points and a career-high six assists for Drew while senior guard Sekya Campbell netted 14 points coming off the bench. Junior guard Katrina Wojtowicz contributed 10 points and six rebounds.

The Rangers shot a season-best 87.5% (14-16) at the foul line.

Emily Lockard paced the Warriors (3-9) with 14 points and six rebounds.

Drew never trailed after scoring the game's first points and opened the game on a 9-2 run. Lycoming closed to within three with 3:26 left in the quarter, but that's as close as the hosts would get the rest of the game. Drew answered with an 8-2 run, which included six points from Campbell, and led 23-14 at the end of the opening period.

The Warriors nudged to within seven early in the second quarter, but Drew answered with a 6-0 spurt. Freshman guard Izzy Lalo and Wojtowicz drained back-to-back 3s to push the Rangers lead to 13, and they carried a 41-30 lead into the intermission.

After Lycoming cut the gap to six, Drew gradually pulled away in the third quarter and led 57-45 heading into the final stanza.

The Rangers opened the fourth quarter on a 12-0 run to put the game out of reach. Four different players scored during the decisive surge for Drew. The Warriors were unable to get closer than 18 the rest of the way.
