HAVERFORD, Pa – Three Bullets scored in double figures and the 23rd-ranked Gettysburg College women's basketball team rolled away with a 50-26 victory at Centennial Conference foe Haverford College in the Calvin Gooding '84 Arena Saturday afternoon.

Game Summary

  • First Quarter: Haverford's offense was off to a quiet start as the reigning conference champions only managed six points in the first quarter. Gettysburg turned in the game's first seven points en route to leading 17-6 heading into the second quarter. The Bullets shot 50 percent (8-of-16) from the field.
  • Second Quarter: Tinner opened the second quarter with a lay-up, and on the next possession, the Fords leading scorer Ally Landau made a jumper to cut the deficit 19-8. Tinner answered right back by connecting on another lay-up to produce a 10-5 run to close out the first half. The senior forward almost outscored the Fords as she netted six of the Bullets 12 points, and Gettysburg held the Fords to seven points to head into intermission ahead 29-13.   
  • Third Quarter: Haverford tallied a quarter-high 11 points, but Gettysburg maintained a comfortable lead as the advantage never dipped below 14. The Bullets' largest advantage was 19 off a made free throw by Rice with 5:16 to go in the quarter. After a jumper by Haverford's Kayla Robinson at the 4:39 marker, neither team made another basket for the rest of the third quarter.
  • Fourth Quarter: Gettysburg outscored Haverford 9-2 in the final quarter to remain perfect in conference play en route to winning its seventh straight victory.  

By the Numbers

  • Gettysburg held a 49-36 advantage on the glass. The Bullets finished 21-of-48 (43.8 percent) from the floor while holding Haverford to a season-low 12-of-68 (17.6 percent).
  • Nine of the 14 Bullets who entered the game scored one point or more.
  • The Orange and Blue went 6-of-11 (54.5) from the free throw line.
  • Donohoe set a new career-high in points with 11.
  • Earlier this week, Gettysburg earned its first national ranking of the season, landing the No. 23 spot on the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll.
