KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Basketball team lost on Saturday afternoon to the University of Rochester 97-55 at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.
Amelia Poole (Bloomfield, N.Y. / Bloomfield) and Lauren Hill (Cobleskill, N.Y. / Cobleskill-Richmondville) each scored 16 to lead Keuka College (1-7). Hill had a team-high seven rebounds and Poole led the Wolves with four assists.
University of Rochester 97 at Keuka College 55
The Green and Gold took the early lead early on a Killian Mahoney (Canandaigua, N.Y. / Canandaigua Academy) three. Lauren Hill then found Megan Brown (Middleburgh, N.Y. / Middleburgh) in the paint as the Wolves led 5-2. Rochester responded with a three that sparked a 17-point run for the Yellowjackets. A three by Sydney Brown (Lowville, N.Y. / Lowville Academy) snapped the run. The University of Rochester led 28-13 after the first quarter.
The Yellowjackets opened the second on a 9-1 run to push the lead to 23 points, 37-14. The Wolves responded with eight straight, their largest run of the afternoon. Within the stretch, Hill had five points with a layup and a three. In the final seconds, Sydney Brown hit a three for Keuka to make it a 47-27 game at the half.
The Wolves scored a team-high 16 points in the third quarter, eight of which came from Amelia Poole. However, Rochester had their best quarter as well. The Yellowjackets shot 78.9% from the floor in the third. They outscored the Wolves 35-16 and led 82-43 after three quarters.
Rochester closed the game out in the fourth. The Yellowjackets had a 15-12 edge in the final frame as they defeated Keuka College 97-55.

- Keuka College is now 2-15 all-time against the University of Rochester. Keuka last defeated the Yellowjackets in the 1988-89 season
- Rochester held a 59-27 edge in rebounding. It was a season-low in rebounds for the Wolves
- Keuka College made a season-high 12 free throws on Saturday
- The Wolves committed a season-low 13 turnovers, but the Yellowjackets still took advantage as Rochester had a 22-11 advantage in points off turnovers
- Killian Mahoney and Julia Bauder (Cazenovia, N.Y. / Cazenovia) each set new single-season highs in points
Up Next for Keuka College: Saturday's game concludes the fall semester for the Keuka College Women's Basketball team. The Wolves will return in 2022 for the Empire 8 Conference portion of the schedule. The Wolves will open the new year on Tuesday, January 4 at Elmira College. The first home game for Keuka College will be that Friday as the Wolves host Alfred University.
