Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (12/4/2021) - Albright College (4-3) put five players in double figures, keeping Gwynedd Mercy University (4-5) on the hustle for the duration of a 78-62 defeat. Senior forward Gabby Boggs (Northfield, N.J.) was top among them as she paired her game-high 25 points with 15 rebounds. For the Griffins, juniors Haley Crossley (Warminster, Pa.) and Kelly Owens (Schwenksville, Pa.) each scored a dozen (12) points on 4-of-8 (.500) shooting performances; The former additionally grabbed six rebounds and made a steal, while the latter added a pair of rebounds to her scoring. A better second quarter saw the Griffins slowly narrow the gap as they cut the halftime spread to a single point, 31-30 (0:31), on a late and-one effort from sophomore guard Lynzie Eggers (Turnersville, N.J.). Unfortunately, that is as close as Gwynedd Mercy University would get with the Lions using an early third-quarter run to distance the Griffins behind a double-digit lead, 41-30, with 8:18 remaining in the restart frame. Gwynedd Mercy University managed to return the difference to single digits by the end of the quarter, 55-46 (0:26), but the rally stopped there as Albright College scored the first bucket of the fourth quarter (58-46, 9:45) and never looked back in a 16-point win.
