Poole Nets 15 in Wolves Loss

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Basketball team lost to SUNY Geneseo 94-38 on Tuesday night at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.

Senior Amelia Poole (Bloomfield, N.Y. / Bloomfield) led Keuka College (0-4) with 15 points. Killian Mahoney (Canandaigua, N.Y. / Canandaigua Academy) added eight for the Wolves.

The Wolves held an early lead over the Knights as Killian Mahoney hit a pair of threes in the opening minutes. SUNY Geneseo responded, however. The Knights took the lead and widened the margin in the opening frame. Amelia Poole found Ellen Lavonas (Brighton, N.Y. / Brighton) for a layup with 23 seconds left, but SUNY Geneseo led 25-16 after one.

SUNY Geneseo opened the second on a 15-0 run, their largest of the game. Amelia Poole stopped the run with a layup following a Lavonas steal with 5:02 left in the half. Poole would later add a three, but the Wolves were outscored 30-5 in the second quarter and trailed 55-21 at the half.

The Knights controlled the game throughout. Gianna Padula (Kenmore, N.Y. / Cardinal O'Hara) set up Julia Bauder (Cazenovia, N.Y. / Cazenovia) for a three late in the third. Isabella Colon (Pine Bush, N.Y. / Pine Bush) later got a steal and found Amelia Poole for a jumper as the Wolves went on a 5-0 run to make it 77-31 after three.

SUNY Geneseo saw the game out in the fourth, outscoring the Wolves 17-7, on their way to the 94-38 victory.
