Benedictine Women Ease Past Concordia Chicago in NACC Tournament

LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's basketball team advanced to the championship of the South Division Tournament with a wire-to-wire victory over fourth-seeded Concordia Chicago on Thursday night.

Allison Michalski scored the first points of the game to put Benedictine ahead
Concordia Chicago struggled from the floor as Benedictine closed the opening 10 minutes on a 7-0 run to open a 19-7 advantage on a three-pointer from Claire Gibler
The run reached 9-0 with the opening basket of the second quarter from Michalski
Benedictine continued to slowly add to the lead, opening a 20-point edge at 35-15 on a Gibler jumper in the final minute
During an even third quarter, Reggie Much, one of the five seniors honored before the game, hit two free throws to stretch the lead to 21 points at 50-29 with 1:54 remaining
The advantage reached 24 points in the fourth quarter following two free throws from Britney Pitzer with 3:30 to play before the bench cleared
Much, Michalski, Morgan Currie, Seriah Bolden and Elisa Diorio were honored before the game as the five seniors who helped win back-to-back conference titles

Benedictine shot 36.5 percent in the victory and held a 50-39 advantage on the glass
Four players reached double figures in the win led by 15 from Pitzer
Michalski finished with 14 points and eight rebounds
Currie tacked on 13 in a reserve role while Gibler added 11 to go with 13 rebounds in a double-double, the first of her career
The bench finished with 22 points
