ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The Robertson Center played host to its third MIAC title game in four years Saturday, and in a gritty, physical contest, the top-seeded and No. 9 ranked Bethel University women's basketball team prevailed against rival and second-seeded Augsburg for the third time this year 72-70. The win clinches an automatic NCAA Tournament spot for the Royals, who are now 26-1 on the season.
Elizabeth Schwarz led the way with 17 points and seven rebounds off the bench, and freshman Kat Brown-Erdal was 7-of-12 from the field for 15 points. The Royals overcame a tough day at the free throw line (20-for-33, 60.6 percent) and 18 turnovers and trailing by as many as eight points.
