Centers Brynne Rolland (23 points) and Allie Spaulding (13) and forward Shayla Wallin combined for 48 points and 27 rebounds to lead No. 19-ranked Tommie Women's Basketball to Saturday's 70-40 road defeat of St. Benedict.
St. Thomas (18-5 overall, 14-4 MIAC) moved back into sole possession of third place in the MIAC race as Gustavus lost to first-place Bethel.
The Toms converted 18-of-19 at the foul line, shot 49 percent from the floor, and had a 40-26 advantage in rebounds.
Two games remain in the league regular-season schedule. If the Toms can beat St. Olaf on Wednesday night and St. Mary's on Saturday afternoon, both at home, they can secure the program's 11th-consecutive 20-win season as soon as next week.
