NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball team snapped a five-game losing skid in a big way on Wednesday evening, thrashing Muskingum University 104-53 in an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) contest at Performance Court.

The win was the Quakers' 12th consecutive against the Fighting Muskies and the third time the team crossed the 100-point plateau. Additionally, the 51-point victory marks the largest margin of victory in an OAC contest for Wilmington in 19-plus years in the league.

Wilmington led wire-to-wire as an 8-0 run opened game with baskets from three Quakers and two free throws from Ellen Nilback. Muskingum stayed within single digits until late in the first quarter when Zahrya Bailey found Kelly Noll for a layup. A Musky turnover followed, and Elise Carpenter sank two free throws to give the visitors a 21-8 advantage after 10 minutes.

The Quakers blew the game wide open in the second quarter, outscoring Muskingum 32-11 to lead 53-19 at halftime. Wilmington mirrored its second quarter performance in the third, scoring 32 points in the run-away victory.

Wilmington shot 44.7 percent from the field with 37 made field goals. Of those, 16 of them were from distance, a season-high in the category for the Quakers. The visitors also posted a season-best 66 rebounds and made all 14 free throw attempts. Muskingum was held under 30 percent from the field and from beyond the three-point arc.

Individually, all 11 players who dressed scored for Wilmington. Both Emily Davis and Brooke Davis scored a career-high 16 points while Emily joined Nilback with nine rebounds. Bailey added 14 points, seven rebounds and a career-best eight assists while McKayla and Hannah Binkley also scored in double figures.

Olivia Lang led Muskingum in defeat with 14 points.

Wilmington (10-12, 6-9 OAC) returns home to face Marietta College at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
