The women's basketball team went on an 18-0 run midway through the game to record a 70-39 CUNYAC home win against the Cougars of Medgar Evers College on Tuesday night.
The contest was close early with the Bearcats leading by six (25-19) with under five minutes left in the second quarter, but they exploded by scoring the final nine points before halftime and the first nine points of the third quarter to take control for the win.
They scored 37 points off 31 turnovers by the Cougars to improve to 13-6 overall and 7-3 in the CUNYAC.
Daniela Zirpolo led four players in double-figure scoring with 17 points and five steals. Milly Ye had 14 points, while Sameera Ahmed and Frances Snyder chipped in with 10 each.
Cyndi White led the visitors with 20 points and nine rebounds.
The Bearcats will resume their schedule on Thursday with the 16th Annual Battle of Lexington contest against rival Hunter College at 5:30 p.m.
