Triple-Double! Bria Lemirande makes history in Edgewood College win

MADISON, Wis. – Bria Lemirande made history Thursday night inside the Todd Wehr Edgedome. Lemirande recorded the first triple-double in Edgewood College Women's Basketball history, leading the Eagles to a 78-61 win over Lakeland University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lemirande did most of her damage in the opening half, scoring eight points with nine rebounds and seven assists as the triple double watch was officially on. She wasted little time in the second half making history, as she notched the triple double with 6:04 left in the third quarter when she recorded her 10th assist of the game, on a jumper by Lexi Walter.

- Lemirande finished the game with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists, while adding four steals for good measure.



- The Eagles (17-2, 12-2 NACC) raced out to an early lead on Thursday night, starting the game on a 20-4 run, which resulted in a 20-6 lead after one quarter of play. Lakeland couldn't slow down the Eagles fast break attack, powered by Bria and Alyssa Lemirande. Alyssa Lemirande scored a game-high 21 points, seven of those in the first quarter. Edgewood College had 11 fast-break points in the first and assisted on all nine of its first-quarter makes, four of those from Bria Lemirande.

- Edgewood College would lead by double digits the rest of the way in gaining its 11th NACC win of the season. The Eagles finished the game with 31 fast-break points, 50 points in the paint, and 30 points off turnovers. They won the turnover battle, 17-9.

- Walter joined the Lemirande sisters in double figures, scoring 10 points, while adding eight rebounds. Diamond Pikulyk chipped in nine points with Abby Shane and Parker Fetherston adding eight and seven, respectively. Mia Edwards contributed six points.

- Edgewood College dished out 24 assists in the win, led by Bria Lemirande's 10. Both Shane and Emma Klein dished out three assists.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Eagles are now tied for the fourth-most wins in school history and still have six regular season games to go. The school record for wins is 21 (2004-05) with both the 2008-09 and 1987-88 teams gaining 19 wins.

- Bria Lemirande's triple-double was the 12th in NACC Women's Basketball history. Nyema Burns of Dominican University had the last triple-double with 11 points 18 rebounds and 10 blocks against Aurora on February 19 of last season.

- Lemirande's triple-double is the second for an Eagles Basketball player, men's or women's. Charlie Averkamp had the first on February 3, 2007 with 15 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists against Dominican University. 

THE OPPOSITION
- Megan Will had 19 points, seven rebounds, and six blocks to lead the Muskies on Thursday night. Kylie Birkholz pitched in 10 points off the bench.

UP NEXT
- The Eagles will visit Illinois Tech on Saturday for another league game. Opening tip is set for 4:15 p.m. and will be the second part of a men's/women's doubleheader with the men's game slated for a 2 p.m. start.
