Baruch Defeats CCNY, Two Players Nearly Notch Triple-Doubles

The Baruch College Bearcats defeated the Beavers of CCNY, 90-56, on Friday night in the ARC Arena.

The visiting Beavers led briefly 12-10, but the Bearcats exploded for a 17-4 run in the final five minutes of the opening quarter to take control for the home win.

Tonight's game will be known for the statistics with both teams.

The Bearcats totaled 29 assists and almost had two players notch a triple-double behind the efforts of Daniela Zirpolo (15 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists) and Melinda Spahiu (15 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists, 5 steals).

Milly Ye (19 points), Valsenia Michie (16 points), and Frances Synder (12 points, 9 rebounds) rounded out the team's five double-figure scorers.

Per CCNY, Reily Boehm poured in 35 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

The Bearcats limited the Beavers to 27 percent (18-for-65) shooting.

The Bearcats will return to action on Monday with a 7:00 p.m. makeup contest at New Jersey City University.
