Greensboro College Downs Pfeiffer Women, 86-69

Greensboro, N.C. (Jan. 22, 2020) – Greensboro College used a 22-6 run in the fourth quarter to take an 86-69 USA South women's basketball win over Pfeiffer University on Tuesday night at Hanes Gym.

The Falcons were led by Brina Bentley (Chester, Va.), as she had a game-high 21 points, going 6-of-17 from the field while hitting a pair of three-pointers.  She also went 7-of-8 from the line and had seven rebounds.  Senior Kortni Pinion (Stanfield, N.C.) had 15 points and secured a team-high eight rebounds and had a pair of steals in the loss.  Regan Allen (Olin, N.C.) went 3-of-4 from long range to finish with 10 points to round out the Falcon scoring leaders.


After being down 36-30 at halftime, the two teams traded the lead back and forth in the third period before Greensboro once again broke the game open with 22-8 run over the first six minutes of the final period to help secure the victory.
 
Greensboro's Ashley Free finished with a team-leading 18 points while Nichelle Jeffries and Katie Lewis combined for 33 points. Shai Robinson also finished in double figures with 12 points in just seven minutes on five-of-five shooting.

The Falcons dip to 7-10 overall and 4-5 in USA South play while Greensboro now stands at 9-6 and 6-2 in conference play.

Pfeiffer will next be in action this upcoming Saturday when they travel to Staunton, Va. to take on Mary Baldwin.  Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
