Sewanee Women’s Basketball Unable to Slow Down Lynx

SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee women's basketball team saw the Lynx of Rhodes College shoot 48% from downtown in the contest, defeating the Tigers, 83-54, Friday night from Juhan Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Lynx held the Tigers to just eight points in the opening stanza, as Rhodes held a 16-8 advantage after 10 minutes of play.

-The Tigers struggled to keep pace with the Lynx, as the team drained 13 shots from the field and had a 34-18 halftime lead.

-Sewanee did respond in the second half, but the visitors shot 48.4% (15-of-31) from downtown. Rhodes entered the weekend in the top-15 nationally from 3-point range.

SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Ellie Treanton led Sewanee with 18 points on 7-of-16 from the floor with five rebounds and three assists and steals each.

RHODES KEY STATISTICS
-Alyssa Owens knocked down four 3-pointers and finished with 16 points with four rebounds and three dimes.

-Ellen Hagen added 15 points on 6-of-9 from the floor.
