Babson Park, Mass. - First-year Bria Fuller (Springdale, Md.) scored a game-high 19 points and visiting Trinity College built a 15-point third-quarter lead before holding off a late Babson College rally for a 61-52 victory in women's basketball action on Tuesday night in Staake Gymnasium.  The Bantams improve to 11-4 heading into a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) clash at Wesleyan on Friday at 7 p.m.  Babson, which had its three-game winning streak snapped, slips to 7-6.

Senior Peace Kabari (Manchester, N.H.) scored 10 points, while sophomore Bailey Hyland (Broad Brook, Conn.) and first-year Frankie Silva (Auburndale, Mass.) added eight points apiece for the Bantams. Fuller and sophomore Elizabeth Althoff (Staten Island, N.Y.) pulled down nine rebounds apiece.  Senior Emily Bonifacic (Allendale, N.J.) finished with 14 points, four rebounds three assists and two steals, while classmate Jacqueline Jozefick (Milford, Conn.) added 13 point and nine boards to lead the Beavers. Junior Shaye Galletta (Riverside, Conn.) contributed seven points to go along with a season-high 11 rebounds in the loss.  The Bantams shot 37.9 percent from the floor and turned 17 Babson turnovers into 19 points.

Fuller made five of her first seven shots and scored 13 points to help Trinity open a 15-7 lead 30 seconds into the second quarter. Babson pulled within four, but the Bantams countered with an 8-2 run that included consecutive three-pointers by Silva to extend their advantage to 23-13 with 5:47 to go until halftime.  Galletta scored all seven of her points over the final 2:25 of the period to help cut the Beavers' deficit to 29-25 less than a minute into the third quarter. The momentum was short-lived though, as Kabari scored four straight points while Hyland and sophomore Katie Kirsch (Pelham, N.H.) both converted three-point plays as part of a 14-3 run that saw Trinity push its lead to 43-28 with under four minutes to play in the stanza.

Babson got within 10 points in the fourth only to see Fuller knock down a three-pointer and a floater in the span of three possessions to make it 53-38 with 6:26 to play in the contest. Jozefick scored nine straight points as the Beavers pulled with 55-47 with 3:22 remaining, and Bonifacic followed up a free throw by Hyland with a three-point play to get the Beavers within 56-50 with 2:00 left.  After a Trinity turnover, Kabari turned a steal into a layup before Fuller and Silva knocked down three free throws over the final 24 seconds to seal the win.
