NEW YORK – The Yeshiva University women's basketball team dropped its Skyline Conference contest to the College of Mount Saint Vincent, 64-45, at the ARC Arena on Saturday evening. The Dolphins advance to 3-1 (1-0 Skyline), while the Maccabees fall to 1-4 (0-3 Skyline).

Sophomore guard Jessie Orgel produced a team-high 12 points, grabbed three boards, and forced two steals.

The Maccabees got of to a slow start, falling behind 7-0. YU trailed by as many as 12 in the opening half, but then answered with a 10-2 run to narrow the opposition's lead to 22-18, with 2:02 left to play in the second quarter. Orgel began the run with a pair of free throws, and then hit back-to-back 3-point shots. Sophomore forward Jennie Mellman capped off the surge with a layup to pull the home team to within four, late in the first half. The Dolphins answered with five unanswered points to close out the period, as the visiting team took a 27-18 advantage into the break.

However, a 3-point field goal by senior guard DarNeisha Brice sparked a 9-2 run for the Dolphins to finish the quarter. YU trailed 43-32 after 30 minutes of play.
