GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Bryn Mawr College tested 20th-ranked Gettysburg College's sharpshooting skills by going to a zone defense and the Bullets answered with a program record 14 three-pointers in an 83-26 victory in Centennial Conference women's basketball action inside Bream Gym Saturday afternoon.
 
Gettysburg (12-2, 9-0 CC) won its 24th-straight game against a conference foe. The Bullets broke the previous program record for three-pointers in a game of 13 set against Frostburg State University on Nov. 18, 1994. The team also set a new standard with 39 attempted shots from beyond the mark.
 
Fourteen players reached the scoring column for the home team. Senior Emma Dorshimer (Jenkintown, Pa./Jenkintown) tallied 11 of her game-high 14 points in the opening quarter. Freshman Seanna McNamara (Berwyn, Pa./The Episcopal Academy) scored a season-high 13 points and grabbed five rebounds, while classmate Christina Richson (Summit, N.J./Summit) recorded 10 points. Freshman Mackenzie Tinner (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) pulled down eight rebounds to lead Gettysburg.
 
Laya Paladugu led Bryn Mawr (1-13, 0-9 CC) with nine points.
 
Gettysburg seized control with a dominant first quarter. The Bullets hit 12-of-16 attempts from the field and raced out to a 30-6 lead. The hosts locked up the Owls in the second period, allowing just one field goal in the period and surging in front 44-8 by halftime.
 
With Bryn Mawr opting for a zone defense in the second half, Gettysburg took its turns launching from beyond the arc. The squad hit only 2-of-11 from three-point land in the third quarter, but the reserves found the shooting touch in the fourth, knocking down 7-of-15 shots from deep. Freshman Fiona Aromando (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) posted her first two collegiate buckets to cap the scoring for the Bullets and broke the three-point record with her second trey with 45 seconds to play.
 
Gettysburg finished 32-of-76 (42.1 percent) from the floor. The Bullets pulled down a season-high 57 rebounds and out-rebounded Bryn Mawr by 24. The hosts also dished out 28 assists, which tied the fifth-best total in program history.
 
Gettysburg travels to Muhlenberg College (9-5, 5-4 CC) on Wednesday, Jan. 16. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
