Yeshiva Drops Skyline Game to Mount Saint Mary

NEWBURGH, N.Y – The Yeshiva University women's basketball team suffered a Skyline Conference loss to Mount Saint Mary College, 79-55, at the Kaplan Center on Thursday evening. The Knights bump their record to 1-0 in the Skyline, and 3-2 overall, while the Maccabees drop to 1-2 in the conference, and 3-3 in general.

After struggling in the first half, Yeshiva outscored Mount Saint Mary, 37-31, during the final 20 minutes of the contest. The Knights led the game from wire-to-wire, but the Maccabees' defense held the opposition to just 13 points in the fourth quarter.

For the evening, senior forward Michal Alge produced a double-double with 10 points and 15 boards, while dishing out six assists. The Boston native now has 984 career rebounds and is just 16 caroms away from the 1,000-rebound milestone.

For the second game in a row, senior guard Nicole Bick led all players in scoring, producing 19 points, while adding three steals. Sophomore forward Lindsay Brandwein had a solid game with eight points and four rebounds, while second-year forward Celia Cohen had seven points, three rebounds, and two assists. Sophomore guard Adina Rosenberg chipped in with five points.

For the Knights, sophomore guard Katie Smith scored 17 points, while senior forward Elizabeth Limonta just missed a double-double with 13 points and nine caroms. Senior center Kayla Cleare scored 11 points and clutched eight rebounds.

Yeshiva will return to the friendly confines of the ARC Arena on Saturday evening, for a Skyline matchup against Mount Saint Vincent, beginning at 8:30 p.m.
