GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy picked up their third win in a row with a 61-28 Colonial States Athletic Conference victory over visiting Clarks Summit Monday night at The Griffin Complex.

13 different Griffins registered on the scoresheet led by Larissa Leyes and Chyanne Fine who each totaled nine points. Leyes hit three of the team's nine three-pointers on the night while Fine added five rebounds. Olivia Roseman chipped in a team-high six assists and five steals, while adding three points and three boards.

After a slow start for both teams, GMercyU (15-8, 12-2 CSAC) broke a 2-2 tie by closing the first quarter on a 16-3 run, a big thanks in part to Leyes ,who was a perfect 3-for-3 from downtown to help start the scoring spark.

Back-to-back buckets from Susan Bossler late in the second helped give Gwynedd its largest lead of the frame (33-11). The Defenders netted the next seven points to make it a 33-18 score at the half.

From there, the Griffins limited Clarks Summit to 10 second-half points en route to the conference win.

Torri Erdman led the Defenders (1-22, 1-13 CSAC) 12 points, nine rebounds, and four blocks.

Gwynedd Mercy heads to Neumann on Wednesday for an important CSAC matchup, with the winner in the driver's seat to claim the #2 playoff seed and more importantly the first-round bye that comes with it. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m.
