Waltham, Mass., Feb. 9, 2018 – The Washington University in St. Louis women's basketball team set a single-game school and University Athletic Association (UAA) record with 16 three-pointers en route to a 90-54 win at Brandeis University Friday in Waltham, Mass.

WashU was 16-of-30 from three-point range, topping the previous UAA single-game mark of 15 set in 1997 by New York and 2017 by Chicago.

Junior forward Stephanie Botkin scored a career-high 21 points on 5-of-7 three-point shooting, while senior guard Natalie Orr just missed a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds. Botkin and Orr were both 5-of-7 from three-point range. Junior forward Madeline Homoly added 16 points and five rebounds.

WashU has won four-straight games and improved to 16-5 and 7-3 in the University Athletic Association (UAA), while Brandeis fell to 12-8 and 4-6 in the conference.

WashU took a double-digit lead midway through the first quarter (17-5) thanks to a 15-0 run. Botkin, junior Becca Clark-Callender and Orr had threes during the run as WashU hit four of its first six threes from beyond the arc. The Bears led 22-12 after the first quarter, limiting Brandeis to 5-of-19 shooting from the field.

The Bears continued to light up the three-point arc as Sondag buried a three to start the second quarter, and then Orr hit her third-straight triple from the corner to push the lead to 32-16.

WashU took the 45-25 halftime advantage behind nine threes and 14 points and seven rebounds from Orr. The Bears shot 44.7 percent (17-of-38) from the field, and limited Brandeis to 23.8 percent (10-of-42). The Judges hit just 2-of-13 from three.

The Bears opened the third quarter on an 11-4 run behind three pointers from Botkin, Orr and Sondag to build a commanding 56-29 lead with less than seven minutes left. WashU hit 5-of-9 from three-point range in the third quarter, and outscored Brandeis 24-16.

WashU shot 53.7 percent (36-of-67) from the field in the win, and outrebounded Brandeis 44-42. Senior guard Shelby Mann dished out a career-high seven assists.

Camila Casanueva led Brandeis with 12 points. The Judges shot a season-low 23.7 percent (18-of-76) from the field, and hit just 4-of-27 from three-point range.

WashU returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 11 at New York University (12-9, 5-5 UAA). Game time is set for 2 p.m. (ET) at Hunter College.
