BIDDEFORD, Maine -- After falling behind by 19 in less than 11 minutes of action, the University of New England roared back during the middle periods and registered a 63-50 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's basketball victory over Eastern Nazarene College on Tuesday evening (Jan. 30) at the Harold Alfond Forum.

The Nor'easters (14-5, 10-2 CCC) have captured the last 21 meetings against the Lions (10-10, 4-9 CCC).

Olivia Shaw did a little bit of everything for the winning side, and notched her sixth double-double of the year. She totaled a game-high 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the floor, grabbed a match-best 15 rebounds, and had four steals, four blocks, and three assists.

UNE also got 13 points from Sam MacDonald, 10 out of Ashley Coneys, and nine from Elyssa Nicholas. Though the hosts were out-rebounded (45-41) and out-scored from behind the arc (27-9), the Nor'easters forced ENC into 27 turnovers (while only committing 10) and converted them into 26 points going the other direction.

For Eastern Nazarene, Shelby Holmes had 22 points with seven rebounds. Kayla Torio added 11 points, eight boards, and five assists, and Michelle Detwiler collected 11 caroms.

The visitors made nine of their initial 14 shot attempts, including 6-of-7 from deep, to gain a 25-6 cushion one possession into the 2nd quarter. Conversely, UNE connected on just 2-of-18 tries over the same span.

However, things began to flip as the Nor'easters rattled off 12 unanswered and sliced the deficit to just four (29-25) by intermission. UNE then poured in 27 points during the 3rd frame to seize control (52-41); Shaw dialed up 19 of her points during the nearly 20-minute rally, which topped off at 46-14.
