ANDERSON, Ind. – Earlham College women's basketball tallied 14 points before Anderson University even got on the scoreboard, and the Quakers cruised to a 66-44 win over the Ravens in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest Saturday afternoon at the O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.

The victory was the third for Earlham women's basketball in its last four contests, and keeps the Quakers in the hunt for the post-season and an HCAC Tournament berth.

The Quakers (4-15, 4-8 Heartland) stretched their lead to 22-5 at the end of the first quarter, and had a 33-14 advantage at the halftime break on their way to the lopsided win.

Sophomore Zoe Curtis (New Castle, Ind./New Castle) paced Earlham offensive with 14 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the field to go with a team-high seven rebounds, while sophomore Kyndall Spears (Plainfield, Ind./Plainfield) tacked on 13 points to round out the double-digit scorers for the Quakers.

The double-digit scoring performance was Spears' fourth of the season, while Curtis cracked double figures for the 14th time in 2017-18.

Senior Mariah Flynn (Kodak, Tenn./Seymour) had a solid performance with nine points on 4-of-8 shooting while handing out four assists. First year Acacia Tennette (Sacramento, Calif./Highlands) also dished out four assists and logged eight steals versus the Ravens.

As a team, Earlham shot .382 from the field (26-of-68), outperforming the host Ravens who were held to just .359 (14-of-39) shooting from the floor. Defensive, the Quakers owned Anderson and forced the Ravens into committing 34 turnovers, leading to 28 Earlham points.

Hannah Hawkins led Anderson (0-19, 0-12 Heartland) with 14 points on a 5-of-7 mark from the floor, while Jordan Ware and Hannah Dunn each tallied 10 points for the Ravens.

The Quakers return home on Wednesday, Jan. 31, to host Transylvania University in an HCAC contest. Tip-off at the Druley Performance Gym is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
