GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College women's basketball team hit a season-high 11 three-pointers and 14 players reached the scoring column in an 89-39 victory over Swarthmore College inside Bream Gym Saturday afternoon.
 
In its first home action in 18 days, Gettysburg (16-2, 12-1 CC) scored 77 points through the first three quarters and finished with 22 assists against just nine turnovers. The Bullets out-rebounded Swarthmore College (3-15, 1-12 CC) 51-32.
 
Five Bullets reached double figures with junior Emma Dorshimer (Jenkintown, Pa./Jenkintown) and sophomore Ashley Gehrin (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham) each posting a dozen points. The Gettysburg bench out-scored the Swarthmore reserves 56-21 led by junior Teal Tasker (Chambersburg, Pa./Mercersburg Academy) and sophomore Kiera Cesareo (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) with 11 points apiece. Sophomore Tyler Koehan (Acton, Mass./Acton Boxborough Regional) finished with 10 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
 
Senior Emily Gibbons (Annapolis, Md./Severn School) tallied seven points and nine rebounds and became just the fourth Gettysburg player to eclipse 900 career rebounds.
 
Kendall Tribus led the Garnet with eight points and Abigail Pirron added seven points and five boards.
 
Dorshimer set the tone by knocking down an opening triple eight seconds into the game. Swarthmore trailed just 5-4 less than two minutes in, but the Bullets mounted a 13-0 run capped by freshman Meredith Brown's (Landisburg, Pa./West Perry) first three-pointer of the season. Gettysburg led 22-7 at the end of the first quarter.
 
The Orange and Blue dominated the next two quarters, posting a combined 55 points and going 20-of-36 (55.6 percent) from the floor. Gettysburg hit nine three-pointers during that time frame, including a pull-up shot by Keohan as the first half expired.
 
The Garnet managed just one free throw over the final five minutes of the third quarter as the Bullets posted a 12-1 run and jumped in front 77-24.
 
Gettysburg finished 32-of-71 (45.1 percent) for the game, including 11-of-26 (42.3 percent) from beyond the arc. Only one Bullet played more than 17 minutes.
 
Swarthmore finished 15-of-54 (27.8 percent) from the field and hit just 3-of-17 (17.6 percent) three-point attempts.
 
Gettysburg hosts Johns Hopkins University next Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 6 p.m.
