Hartford, Conn. - Junior forward Erin Cunningham (Wilton, Conn.) tallied a game-high 19 points and seven rebounds to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 66-42 win over the visiting Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks in women's basketball action this evening at Oosting Gymnasium.  Trinity improves to 12-5 with its second victory in a row, while the Ducks drop to 7-8.  Trinity will visit St. Joseph's (L.I.) on Saturday, January 19 at 1 p.m. in a rare road doubleheader with the Bantam men's squad.  Stevens hosts Nazareth on Friday, January 18 at 8 p.m.

Trinity built a 27-15 lead at the half, holding the Ducks to just six field goals before the break on 32 field goal attempts for an 18.8 shooting percentage, and exploded for 26 points in the third quarter to blow the game open.  The Bantams led wire-to-wire, taking an early 5-0 lead on three points by sophomore Peace Kabari (Manchester, N.H.) and two by junior center Courtney Erickson (Everett, Mass.), and extending to a double-digit advantage with just under eight minutes left in the second quarter at 18-8 on an Erickson layup.  The Bantams scored the first nine points of the third quarter, getting baskets from four different players during the run.  First-year guard Allie Morin (Westwood, Mass.) put the home squad ahead by 20 points at 38-18 midway through the third frame with a pair of free throws, and back-to-back treys by Cunningham gave Trinity its largest lead at 59-30 at the 8:02 mark of the final quarter.

Morin joined Cunningham in double figures in scoring for Trinity with 12 points to go with six rebounds off the bench, while sophomore guard Meghan Lewis (Demarest, N.J.) added eight points and a game-high eight rebounds, and Kabari finished with six points, four rebounds, four assists, three steals, and a blocked shot.  Sophomore guard Alison Criswell (Arlington, Va.) paced Stevens with 10 points and added three steals, while senior forward Megan Brown (Laurel, Md.) totaled eight points, a team-high six boards, and two blocks.  Trinity dominated the glass with a 49-to-31 rebounding advantage and held Stevens to a 26.7 shooting percentage from the floor.  Trinity shot 42.9 percent from the field, including 50 percent in the second half, and 44.4 percent from long range.  Cunningham led the way from beyond the arc with five makes in six attempts.  The teams combined for 35 turnovers.
