Panthers Complete Comeback with 34 Point Fourth Quarter

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball dropped 34 points in the fourth quarter to comeback and defeat Rhodes College 78-71 Sunday afternoon in Bill Battle Coliseum.  BSC (9-7) moves to 3-2 against Southern Athletic Association opponents with the win.

 

Emilee Olsen (Marietta, Ga./Lassiter HS) tied a career-high to lead all scorers with 27.  She also grabbed 10 rebounds to earn her 10th double-double of the season.  Elizabeth Philpot (Birmingham, Ala./Spain Park HS) also tied a career-high with 21 points of her own.  Kaitlin Hogan (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia Hills HS) rounded out the Panthers in double-figures.  She earned 15, going 2-for-3 from three-point range.

 

BSC trailed by 14 going into the fourth quarter.  They outscored Rhodes 34-15 in the final frame.

 

BSC continues its home stand on Friday, January 19.  They host Berry College in a doubleheader with the men's team. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
