KERRVILLE, Texas - Controlling the game for all forty minutes, the East Texas Baptist University women's basketball never conceded a lead as they took care of business with a 65-53 win over Schreiner University. ETBU is currently 8-1 overall with the win.

ETBU caught fire at the start of the third quarter with an 11-2 run in the first two-and-a-half minutes to lead by 13 points at 43-30, their largest of the game. During the run, Wilson accumulated for six of the points while a Childress jumper (8:01) and a three by Karley McHenry (7:23) rounded up the eleven points. But the Mountaineers would have their own 11-2 run (6:54-2:37) to cut the deficit to 45-41. However, it was a fourth three by Boren that made it 48-41 in ETBU's favor just twenty seconds later. Sydney Saxton would push the margin to nine with a layup as ETBU had a 50-41 lead after three.

After free throws by Childress (9:12) gave ETBU a 52-41 lead, SU tallied the next five points (8:56-8:16) to cut the lead to 52-46. After a three by SU made it 57-49 (6:30), neither team would score for the next three minutes. ETBU ended up scoring five points from Erin Meeks (1:08) and Childress (0:36) as they would finish winning 65-53.
