(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) – Senior guard Abby Owings (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) scored a season-high 26 points today (Saturday, January 6, 2018) to lead the eighth-ranked Thomas More College women's basketball team to a 100-56 win over Geneva College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at Metheny Fieldhouse in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.

With the win, the Saints extend their winning streak to 11 games and improve to 12-1 overall and 6-0 in the PAC.  The Golden Tornadoes fall to 3-10 overall and 0-6 in the PAC with the loss.

Thomas More raced out to a 34-7 lead after one quarter and never looked back as it led 52-26 at halftime and 76-36 after three quarter as it went on to the 100-56 victory.  The Saints had a 50-8 advantage on points in the paint, 27-6 advantage in points off turnovers and 23-9 advantage in second chance points.  Thomas More's bench outscored Geneva's 44-12.

Owings shot 66.7 percent (10-of-15) from the field, including 66.7 percent (six-of-nine) from behind the three-point arch to score her 26 points.  Joining her in double-figues was junior guard Madison Temple (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson), sophomore forward Emily Schultz (Melbourne, Ky./Bishop Brossart) and junior forward Shelby Rupp (Milan, Ind./Batesville) as they all scored 13 points each and senior forward Nikki Kiernan (Cold Spring, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) with 10 points.  Rupp led the team on the boards with nine rebounds, while Kiernan and first-year guard Hayden White (Milford, Ohio/Milford) each pulled down seven rebounds.  Temple led the team in assists with seven and in blocks with two.

The Saints return to action on Wednesday (January 10) when they travel to Waynesburg, Pennsylvania to play Waynesburg University in a PAC contest.  Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. inside the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse.
