Junior center Hannah Spaulding had 22 points and 12 boards for her fourth double double of the season and also had seven blocked shots as No. 16-ranked St. Thomas posted a 71-46 defeat of visiting Carleton Saturday afternoon in MIAC women's basketball play at Schoenecker Arena.

The Tommies (10-2, 5-0) shot 48 percent from the floor and had a 44-30 rebounding edge as they extended their MIAC winning streak to 40. They stayed tied with 6-0 St. Ben's atop the 18-game conference standings.

Lucia Renikoff scored 18 points, and Lauren Fischer and Kaia Porter each chipped in 11 points. UST led 19-13 after one quarter then used a 15-3 run to start quarter two en route to a 39-23 halftime lead.

Katie Chavez sank five treys and finished with 20 points for the Knights (4-7, 1-4).

St. Thomas plays Wednesday at Concordia-Moorhead.
