            BRUNSWICK, ME – Hartwick dropped a 60-54 decision to Hunter College in the first round of the Bowdoin College Coastal Classic in Brunswick, ME on Friday night. The loss puts the Hawks' overall record at 1-7. The Hunter Hawks improve to 8-2 on the campaign.

            Carly Johnson (Greenville, NY/Greenville Central) paced all players with 21 points. She knocked down three three-pointers and grabbed five rebounds. Caitlin Corbett (Altamont, NY/Guilderland) missed out on a double-double by just one rebound with 10 points and nine boards. Kelly Pine (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls) added eight points and tied for a game-best 11 rebounds. Mary Schoenherr (Unionville, CT/Farmington) contributed seven points and seven boards.

            Jade Aponte had 15 points, six rebounds, four assists, and four steals for Hunter. Janine Conway added 12 points and five steals. Christine Patterson scored 11. Ashley Arias grabbed 11 rebounds.

            Hartwick wraps up tournament play tomorrow at 4 p.m. against the host Polar Bears, who are ranked No. 12 in the latest D3hoops.com poll.
