Guilford Women Post Seventh Straight Win, 74-55 at William Peace

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Sophomore Miracle Walters tallied a game and career-best 20 points as Guilford College cruised to a 74-55 women's basketball win at William Peace University on Sunday.

The Quakers improved to 7-1 with their seventh straight win. The Pacers dropped to 1-5 for the season.

Walters made seven-of-11 shots from the floor, converted all six of her free throws and grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds. Kendyl Medlin, a freshman transfer, scored 15 points in her Quakers' debut. She played 14 minutes and made three three-pointers for the visitors. Monell Dunlap contributed 10 points for the Quakers.

Guilford shot 44 percent (32-72) to William Peace's 37-percent shooting. The Quakers had the edge in rebounding, 52-30. Guilford had 24 assists to nine for William Peace. Jasmine McBride passed eight assists for the Quakers. 

The Quakers held a 40-29 edge at halftime.

Jayde Grant scored 19 points to lead William Peace. Teammate Mikayla Ray added 16 points and pulled down a game-best 11 rebounds. Dejah Cheatham recorded 13 points for the home club.

The Quakers return to action on Dec. 30 when Salem College visits Ragan-Brown Field House. Game time is 2 p.m.
